I'm finally feeling ready to add back some of the fun to our lives now that Isla is a little older and sleeping really well most nights and now that all planning for and cleaning up from the reunion are done. She got her 2 months shots on Tuesday and after 2 days of fever and sleeping we're all ready to get out and enjoy the summer. First up, go see the pioneer day floats at the free exhibition. I'm not sure we'll make it to the actual parade (we haven't actually gone any year so why start now ?:) But the boys were thrilled to see them up close and to just we out of the house for an adventure.
This float had a trolley car on one side and a trax train on the other and they went in and out of the tunnel.
One of the floats was a pirate ship and they had swords and outfits the boys could put on and "fight" the pirates.Yep, my boys were all over that. Well Ethan and Isaac were. Miles was actually pretty freaked out by the pirate guys.
Isaac had to pose as Timmy. We LOVE shaun the sheep and timmy.
And here's our stake's float. Somehow all of these floats are supposed to represent the pioneers but I'm pretty sure the makers just come up with a theme they think is fun and then stretch it in someway represent pioneers. Our was called something like "Dreams are sweet" and I'm sure the pioneers had dreams but I'm pretty sure they weren't dreaming of ice cream sundaes or oreos as they marched across the planes. The CTR Oreo is pretty sweet though. And so was seeing all the floats.
