The Greats

Last summer my grandma Wade fell and broke her hip.  With no family near their home, they decided to move to Utah to be close to my aunt so she could help care for them.  Luckily they're close to us too so we get to see them every once in a while.
The boys were fascinated with Grandpa Wade's stories about working on military planes in the 50's.

And every Wednesday we get to take them to Carl's Jr. for breakfast.  This little girl is in heaven with tater tots.
And with Grandma-great who teases her and she teases right back.
Grandpa-great gets a kick out of the whole thing.
And Miles joins in on the fun of riding on their scooters.  We're sure glad they live close to us!

Memorial Day

It's time!  Isaac is 7 1/2 and we've put off learning to ride a bike long enough so here goes.

Not too bad.

And even though Miles is just 5 1/2 here he goes too.

Pinewood Derby 2015

After all the work at everyone's homes, here's the lineup of cub scouts ready to try out their designs.
Last minute adjustments to add weights and shave off the last bit of unevenness from the wheels.
Johnny, Tate, Bryce, Ethan, and Joseph
All the boys had to line the finish area of course.
And lucky Miles got to push the start button, with dad supervising of course.
Ready to go!
Ethan's car is the camoflage tank.  Not the most aerodynamic but it was all he wanted.  And actually pretty easy to paint.
And then when all the cub scouts had finished, the younger siblings got to join in for the "banana" car races.
Some of the cool cars the boys made.

The winners!

At the end of the night his tank got a place of honor next to his first golden pinewood derby car and all the soccer medals.  And what a great trophy car holder he made with his two awesome leaders, Troy St. Jeor and Nick Mingo.

Pinewood Derby Prep

Ahh, the Pinewood Derby.  Good time with dad... planning, cutting, painting...
Or maybe lots of watching.  This dad is a bit of a perfectionist.  Still good time together.

Soccer extras

Ok so just a few soccer pics which are very few in comparison to the 30+ hours of soccer we watch each spring and fall.  Miles has loved being on his friend Ryan's team.
His dad is the best.
And he insists the parents do a tunnel after each game for both teams that played.  It's everyone's favorite part of the soccer experience.

Cenicienta (Cinderella)

It's not a secret that while Miles is my hardest child to parent, he is the easiest of my children for everyone else to love.  He is just so full of life and spunk and personality.  He's seriously everyone's favorite.
And on the stage his personality is amplified.  He was NOT excited to hear his school would be doing Cinderella for this spring play.  He refused to be the prince or any of the mice even though I tried to convince him they were the funny parts.  Instead he finally agreed to be ... a clock.  That's him waving his hand.

Isla and Taylor were entranced.

And Miles did not disappoint... hamming it up whenever he could.

And he was especially great when it was his turn to sing a duet with his clock buddy and break out his dance moves.  Truly entertaining.
