Random January

Miles has been lucky enough to be part of a lunch bunch group so 3 of 5 days a week he goes to a friends house after Kindergarten (or they come to ours) to eat lunch and play for a bit.  He loves it!
And his friends are nice enough to let Isla join in on the fun.

I've been looking for a way to get more exercise and also have a little break from my kids.  So when I spotted a snowshoeing class Saturday mornings I jumped on it.  It is perfect.  So nice to be up, out of the pollution, in the beautiful white landscape of Utah winter mountains, chatting with random people also looking for a little clean air and exercise.

And Taylor is happy to have a daddy morning each Saturday with the kids.  Usually it starts with breakfast out at some restaurant followed by whatever the kids would like to do.  This Saturday?  It's time to put nail polish on Isla's nails.

And also time to work on Ethan's Science fair project.  Question:  Could Han Solo really have been frozen and then brought back to life?  Let's try it on celery and see what happens.
Nope, we don't think he'd make it.

More cub scouts of course.
And more basketball.
Happy nails, happy girl.
More snowshoeing.
More daddy time.

Silly girls.

Taylor's 35!!!
I maybe should have been paying attention to this munchkin instead of Isaac's basketball game.

Isaac's baptism

And finally the real reason for the weekend.  Isaac is getting baptized!

Practicing one last time just to make sure we're clear on what to do.

Isaac has been such a blessing in our family.  He is the perfect buffer between Ethan and Miles.  He loves everyone and is happy to do what others would like to do.  He is responsible and conscientious.  He is helpful and kind and noticing other people's needs.  He loves his younger siblings and cousins and is happy to play with them.  He is a great friend and full of spunk and makes us laugh all the time.  He is very sneaky in good, funny ways and we couldn't be happier to have him in our home with us.  We love Isaac!  We're so proud of the young man you're becoming and the decision you've made today.

Isaac's birthday party

Isaac requested a party at our Laser Tag place and I was happy to oblige since it's so easy and so much fun!

Happy to get toilet papered.
Green gatorade, pizza, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.  And tragically not any other pictures of the party since it was inside the dark room shooting lasers at all our friends.  But a good party none the less.

The Kitchens are Here!

Very quickly (1 day exactly) after we got home from our cruise, Grandma Tina and Grandpa Pat came to visit.  Lots of play time.
Isla is slowing losing her Costa Rican braids but they're still cute while they last.
What to do while we watch George?  Box rides and dinosaurs of course!

And sledding of course!
Grandpa Pat is about the best person you could ask for on the sledding hill.
Ok, Grandma Tina's pretty great too with a good, hard push.

Catching a little air there Isaac!

Dinner at Spaghetti Factory with Star Wars balloon swords?  Yes, please!

And then that's about all the excitement we could take.
