Stealing the show

Wednesday night was our ward's Christmas party. As usual the primary read the Nativity story and sang a few songs. They asked the parents to dress all the boys as shepherds and the girls as angels. After all the obsession we've been having with hats recently, Isaac was very upset to be told he wasn't part of the primary and so didn't get a towel headdress and couldn't join the group to sing. Upset enough that he spent most of dinner saying to me in a quiet voice "but I wanna sing tooooooooo."
Halfway through dinner he gave up on his rant and went to run races with the kids in the hallway. And that's where I assumed he was until out walked the primary... with Isaac the sheep in the middle.
Apparently someone had an extra costume and he was either cute enough to win their favor or persistent enough (he's good at both those things). For the first part of the show he refused to sit with the boy shepherds and stood with the girls.
Then he wandered around the stage and checked things out (making the crowd laugh) and then finally settled down with the other sheep and cows.
My wonderful Ethan stayed with the shepherds and sang very well. Very cute.
But at least on this one, he got upstaged by Isaac the unruly sheep who was overjoyed to be included by some very kind Primary teachers.
