A Haunted Evening at Red Butte Gardens

My mother-in-law Sonia is a director of a charter school in downtown Salt Lake and so she gets random gifts from appreciative staff and parents. Last year someone gave her a free membership to Red Butte Gardens and since they were having a Haunted evening for kids, she invited us all along.
It was amazingly busy but really fun too. We were glad we got there early so it wasn't dark and therefore too scary for my little boys. The haunted forest "walk" was scary enough in the daytime.

And we were excited to have Grandpa come along too. He's about the busiest person I know between work, golf, and visiting family. We get to have dinner with him most Sundays and this was a special treat to have him along to help steer the kids in the right direction. He has a special affinity for Miles because they're both the 3rd boys in their families.
Grams was a genius and brought light-up wands for the boys to play with. Unfortunately Miles got his hands on one and dropped it which knocked out the battery.
It was really fun to hang out together and get to chat while we waiting for different kids activities. They had pumpkin painting, face painting, potion making, floating lantern making, the haunted forest walk, and a lot more I can't even remember. It was fabulous too to just let the kids run around us in line with all the other crazy kids while we waited.
And of course Grandpa came to the rescue after the wand got dropped and got the big boys their own light sabers. A gift that keeps on giving as these 2 play with them still.
