Life is really great around here so I want to include all the randomness. We've lived her almost 6 years now and this beautiful vine grows back each spring but this is the first year we've ever gotten flowers. It's a Wisteria vine and my mother in law guesses that because the spring was so California-like, it finally produced flowers. They were beautiful!
Taylor started swimming with a masters group in the fall. They get there and swim from 6-7am every workday and take turns with who coaches everyone. Taylor loves this because it feels just like high school and it gets him up and going early and he gets in a good workout. From this group, he met the coach of the high school water polo team and volunteered to come help out for the spring season. So several nights a week Taylor goes and helps coach. We've come along to a few of the games and they are so much fun. There's Taylor in the green shirt.
The kids get less than an hour of tv/ipad/computer time a day but boy is it motivating to get their jobs done quickly so they can go play.
Even though we don't have our kids go to the local elementary school, we love to support their Cupcake art night where everyone pitches in and makes fun and tasty homemade cupcakes. I made 50 cupcakes and then we bought 9 to bring home and try.
For Mother's Day Taylor took us all on a hike partway up Mt. Olympus. The kids LOVED it which clearly shows what terrible parents we are for not taking them more often. We'll just try to be better in the future.
Taylor's brother Arty and his wife had a new baby, Stella so we got to have Ezra for a day and night. It was really cute to wake up and come out to find that the boys had gotten him out of his crib and were playing cars with him.
And of course he ate cereal and read scriptures with us too.
Then I got to meet baby Stella who is so tiny and perfect that for a second she made me want another baby... but just for a second.
For teacher appreciation we went to Target and picked a bunch or our favorites- sodas, brownie sticks, flavored nuts, and fruit strips. Plus we added gift cards and flowers from our own garden.
Several mornings a week I go walking with my good friend Amy. Earlier in the year it was pitch black but now we are greeted by the most amazing sunrises over the mountains. Such an amazing way to start the day.
