Doc McIsla's Party

Saturday morning we had soccer games and then we started to clean and get ready for Isla's party.  I put her in her room to take a nap but she just couldn't stop coming out because she was so excited.  And then every time she came out there were new decorations to see so she'd just get more excited.  Finally I sent her in to the sandman (ie. Dad) and of course he got her to pass out.

Then we were able to get it all ready.  Isla is OBSESSED with Doc McStuffins.  She carries her doctor kit around everywhere we go and gives checkups to everyone.  So of course that had to be our theme.  I found these purple treat boxes online and then taped on the top and spray painted hot pink and added glitter.
They turned out just like the real Doc Stuffins Dr. bag and then we filled them with coloring pages, stamps, gummies, candy, and little purses and books we found on clearance.
All the Doc McStuffins stuff was on clearance at the party store so I went a little crazy.  Why not?  It was like $0.35 for the sign.  Much easier than making it myself!
Isaac and Miles helped me set up our own clinic complete with doctor name badges, tiny pets that were feeling ill, checkup sheets, and all the tools the kids would need to complete their checkups.
Isla didn't really have an opinion on her cake so we went with easy cupcakes. with fondant bandaids.

I sent Taylor to walmart to get a few balloons inflated for the front yard.  He comes back with the 6 balloons I sent him with as well as this giant thing and he says "I did exactly what you said... I got the 6 balloons inflated... and a bought a giant, expensive Princess balloon".  Right.  Those were my instructions.  Isla loved it of course so it stayed even though it was the wrong theme.

And the birthday girl is away and ready to go.
Which is good because it's party time!  First we colored and then we opened the clinic for all the little girls.

After choosing an animal and giving them a checkup, they all got to take their doctor kit with them.
And instantly we had 8 little girls all spread out on the floor giving their animals checkups.  It was the cutest thing.
And Grams came by so Miles helped her be a doctor too.

Then it was cake time!
Isla's is a berry fiend so of course we had cupcakes, berries, and pink princess goldfish.
This was our first "girl" party ever and I have to say it was a whole lot more calm than the boy's have ever been.  Actually quite nice.
Cousin Aria came too and was the only one of the girls to finish her cupcake.
Then they opened presents.
And went back to playing in the toy room.  It was honestly the easiest party I've done because they were all so calm and happy to just play.
After helping with the clinic, all the boys went back to the room to play ipads.  They've discovered a game where their games can all link together so it's kind of cute to hear the interaction of them telling each other what to do and helping each other out.
The happy birthday girl after her party.  Pink and purple overload but so much fun!
