Just the girl

Even if Isla wasn't the only girl we'd be in love with her little, happy, loving personality.  She is such a good little two year old and brings such joy to our family.  She's also very perceptive which is both good and bad.  Isaac and I sit down everyday to practice reading together and apparently I quite frequently say "nope" when he reads a word wrong.  I hadn't really paid attention to this but apparently Isla was.  So one afternoon Isaac was reading to me and Isla climbed up to join in and said "nope" over and over again as he read.  Isaac couldn't even get through a few pages he was laughing so hard because she really was very seriously and forceful with her "nopes".
She's also our first child who falls asleep when given permission.  Seriously.  She'll be crying or fussing about something and it's past her naptime or bedtime and if you say "it's okay, you can go to sleep", she'll answer "o-tay", snuggle her little head into the corner of her carseat, and fall asleep within minutes.  Why can't all kids be this amazing?
She's pretty fantastic.  She also transfers from the car to her bed great and will just lay her head down on your shoulder when you get her out of the car.  So cuddly and precious!
She's our first that really loves any kind of stuffed animals.  In this case it's baby dolls and she wants every single one of them to sleep in her crib with her.
And Taylor's a complete sucker for letting her fall asleep on him.  He eats it up whenever she is sick or just ready to go to sleep and she get spoiled quite often and gets to stay up late if she'll just cuddle in his arms.

She's a pretty good eater and will eat most anything.  The one way that she is picky is that she refuses to eat if she's not hungry.  She'll skip entire meals or eat very little for several days and then eat more than Ethan in a single meal.
And she's a bit obsessed with ranch and will lick her plate clean literally.  Carrots are really just a utensil to get the ranch into her mouth.
She has recently figured out how to open the fridge and she likes to grab and eat whatever she can find.  Cheese sticks and fresh vegis are a favorite.  One afternoon Taylor and I were back in our room discussing something and came out later to find her lounging on the couch watching TV with the boys and noshing on raw broccoli.
I guess I can't complain about that.
For her birthday Grandma Tina sent her some money and she picked out a pink scooter since she's recently been trying hard to keep up with her brothers on their 2 wheel scooters and that has been a bit of a disaster with tipping over.  But this one is perfect.  Of course in true girl fashion, she insisted on wearing her pink, plastic pumps to ride it around the house.  Thankfully there's just 1 of these little cuties or there might be too much pink overload in our house.
