Zoo with Gram

We love living next to Taylor's parents but in truth we see very little of them.  Sunday dinners, yes but mostly that's it.  So we LOVE it when they surprise us with a trip to somewhere fun.  And since our local zoo has been half under construction for the last year and a half and it's finally done, the zoo seemed the perfect outing- especially since we somehow we got a random day in the middle of June when it was only 65 degrees.
The new area they opened up is an African Safari and since they have bear and elephant and seal statues just like these around the zoo, we needed a picture riding these fun new animals we could see.
We saw giraffes and zebras and ostriches and then spent the longest time watching the lions.
They're brand new to our zoo and as luck would have it, it was almost their feeding time so they kept pacing back and forth while we watched.
Then we were off to the rest of the zoo to see tigers and elephants and polar bears and everything you can imagine.  It really is a fantastic zoo and all the new additions are just wonderful.  The kids especially enjoyed the new splash playground in the middle even though it was chilly.
And finally since we've been missing the ZooSafari train for the last year and a half, we had to go ride.  A quick selfie to prove I was there.
And then one of all my favorite people at the zoo!  Thanks Grams!  We love adventuring with you!
