The New Aquarium

Because Ethan and Isaac attend different Elementary schools in different School Districts, sometimes holidays get screwed up.  And that's what happened with Spring Break this year.  Ethan had off the 1st week of April while Isaac and Miles had off the 3rd.  Luckily Ethan's Tae Kwon Do had a staycation option and he got to spend several days with his friends playing, doing Tae Kwon Do, and going on field trips.  And then for the other spring break I took the kids (minus Ethan) up to Washington State.  But not all week- so on Tuesday when Grams and Esther was free we all ventured down to Sandy to check out the new Aquarium.  And Ethan got to skip school and come along since I felt bad for him.
This lizard was a favorite because he kept swimming around his little lake- and he was HUGE.
So were these fish.
Big enough to eat Ezi thought Ethan.
And this bird was REALLY loud and REALLY fun because he really wanted our attention.

The turtles were cool.
But the rope bridge was definitely the big highlight for the boys.

It spans about 20 feet and hangs over the open first floor below.  Even Isla wanted to try.
The penguins were not their normal fun selves but apparently it's very traumatic for animals to be moved from one aquarium to another so they'll hopefully be better in the future.  Almost half the exhibits were actually closed since the place is so new and the animals are still adapting.  But the aquarium was smart and gave everyone free bounce back summer passes so we wouldn't be disappoointed.
It's a neat place and MUCH bigger than the one in the grocery store we used to have.
See?  New shark tunnel- very cool.  And Ethan is right, this one could eat Ezi AND Isla.
