This year since we'll be traveling the week before Easter- and without Ethan- I knew we had to get our Easter traditions done early. With Taylor gone on a golfing trip with his dad, Saturday afternoon made the perfect time for some Easter fun with Grams.
Grams is great for crafts and also because she thinks these little rugrats are hilarious. And they eat that up.Randome funny sticker projects while we impatiently wait for the dye to set.
And they're finally done.
Adding face stickers is always the best part.
In truth my kids just aren't very big into crafts or art. They're happy to do them but they aren't interested in taking their time or in the activity lasting more than 3-4 minutes. So we dyed eggs, made sticker papers, and then moved on to the real fun.
Glow in the dark Easter Egg Hunt!!! Right?! Best idea ever- except that it's past day light savings so it's not dark here until almost 9pm and there's no way these guys are staying up that late. The pictures didn't turn out well with the bad lighting but needless to say they had a blast.
Everyone took a turn hiding and then letting others find them and they would have happily done this all night long.
Then Sunday after family dinner when everyone was home we had a real egg hunt outside.
Ezi was NOT impressed with the grass- even with fun colored things he wanted.
Miles was in heaven.
And very cute to watch.
And Isla was too. All purple and pink eggs were off limits to the boys since we hid them more easy for her and Ezi to find.
And since we had a strict egg finding limit, it forced some who are faster than other- ahem, to help each other.
Which just makes everyone happy.
And if you're the littlest of the boys and dad picks you up to help you get the highest, best hidden egg, well then you're in hog heaven for sure.
Isla had no trouble finding hers but a few times we noticed a random egg on the pool cover. So one of us adults would go grab it and hide it back in the grass somewhere. And then it would reappear on the pool cover. Finally Taylor watched her and realized she was finding and throwing the exact same egg onto the cover. And he noticed she'd been shaking all the eggs as she found them and this one randomly did not have anything inside it so she'd find it, shake it, and promptly toss it onto the pool cover since obviously (to her) an egg without candy wasn't worth her time. She's a little too smart for her own good sometimes.
And then it was back inside to open all the eggs up and devour the treats.
And of course we had to introduce Esther to peeps because they're just good American food.
