And So It Begins...

We were up bright and early Wednesday morning and almost out the door before we realized it was snowing. Just the first of many hiccups on our trip.
We were thankful we got there 2 1/2 hours early since we ended up having to pay for a "lap" ticket for Miles at the counter and it took almost 45 minutes for that alone. Ethan entertained himself by dragging his new tiger bag around.
Isaac entertained himself by climbing on and off the luggage scales and taking his Mickey Mouse around.
Security was so quick (thank you Family screening line) that we even had a little extra time to play before boarding. We love Utah because even the airports are family friendly. There are these little play areas at almost every terminal.
Our first flight to Atlanta was delayed a half hour while they de-iced the plane but our kids were happy enough. Ethan LOVED the music on the ipod and cracked us up most of the flight with his dancing and spontaneous loud singing whenever his favorite song came on. Thankfully the other passengers were understanding. He was happy to sit on the edge of his chair and we discovered Miles could lay behind him and fit perfectly. Everyone was happy!
Because we were a little late getting to Atlanta, some passengers were afraid of missing their connections. As we were taxying in, this old lady stood up, got her bag out of the overhead bin, and started walking forward. The stewardesses started yelling at her to sit down but she refused so the pilot had to stop the plane. Several of the passengers started screaming at her to sit down too and still she refused until she found an empty seat up at the front and stayed there. Kind of funny- but only because our connection wasn't that tight.
Our flight from Atlanta to London was actually not bad either, aside from Miles peeing through one outfit and then having a poo explosion on the 2nd. Luckily I brought 3 for him! Honestly though, why don't all planes have changing tables? It's seriously impossible to clean up a messy diaper while holding a child by the ankles with just his head and back propped on the toilet seat cover.
We ended up with an extra seat for Miles so he and Isaac we both able to sleep for a while and Ethan watched movies. Taylor and I realized how spoiled we normally are when we got on and there weren't seatback TVs and the only thing on the big screen was 3 sitcoms that played over and over again for the 9 hours. How many times did we have to endure Two and a Half Men, My Name is Earl, and Everybody loves Raymond? I don't even want to remember.
