Christmas morning came bright and early (okay every morning did since it was summertime and the sun was up by 5am every day) and Santa had come!!!
We didn't bring any Christmas presents for the boys (we in fact didn't give them anything besides the ipods- oh wait that was Santa- and a few pirate toys back in Utah) but luckily there were grandparents and aunts and uncles who did bother to pack and lug presents for them from all over the world.
So they put on their reindeer antlers they had made on a previous day at sea as well as their new Christmas jammies, grabbed their sand buckets and toys from Santa and headed down to Grams and Grandpa's room for Christmas morning.
Every year there HAS to be a tree. Sometimes it's a plant in a hotel room, sometimes it's a tree shape cut out of wrapping paper, and this year- an easily packable, inflatable Christmas tree!
Waiting for the aunts and uncles to wake up and get out of bed.
This year we put out a few (subtle) recommendations for presents. Like small, lightweight toys might be good since in past years we've come home with pillow pets and enormous stuffed animals which take up quite a bit of space in our mountains of luggage we have to drag through airports.
And see Mack? They LOVE them!!! Miles instantly found himself a "road" to drive on.
And grams listened and brought them all coloring pencils and sticky notes since that's what they beg for when we visit her at her office. See, they're not snobs- they like ipods and cheap toys too!
The whole gang on Christmas morning.
