The 4th

For the morning we decided to venture off to another hike we did last year and LOVED!
Through the hole and into the deep, dark cave... ok so it's only about 100 yards long, but still cool and dark for a little while and a little scary fun for the kids.

Then instead of following the trail back up and out, we decided to try wading out through the river since it was so low this year.

Mostly successful with just a few places where we had to actually step in the water.  Kelli was not sold on the whole experience.
But we made it out just fine and back up to the trail.

And some of us got a nap in the car.
Which gave us more energy for the slip & slide when we got home.

And more chasing of Uncle Fred.

And fire in the firepit with marshmallows to roast.

While we wait for it to really be dark enough to see the fireworks (not that others were waiting).
Miles felt very big to be allowed to help light one firework with Dana.
