Isaac

This big guy is such a dream to be the parent of.  Always happy.  Always helpful.  Just a wonderful boy.
But sadly, a few weeks back he was down playing in the basement, standing on a toy bin that had been tipped sideways and it caved in on him and he fell and cracked his elbow.  I would have just thought he was fine except for the quiet sobbing and refusal to move it for the next 20 minutes.  So off to instacare we went.  Of course this had already been quite the day for me.  Taylor was up most of the night throwing up with food poisoning and then stayed home the next day needing to be babied but also to have the house quiet- yeah right.  And our furnace went out which wasn't too big a deal since it's been so warm and since we have one for the upstairs too which is where we mostly live.  I called Taylor's mom who came and took the other kids to her house for dinner and playtime and Isaac and I went and got very painful x-rays and a splint.
All smiles the next day since he was doped up on medicine and got to stay home from school.
Isla was pretty excited to have him around to play with and read to.
And the next week after the swelling had gone down we got a real cast.  Unfortunately they had every single color in the rainbow to choose from, except the orange that he wanted.  Turtle green had to do.
And he's back to being his crazy self in the basement.
Luckily this was March when basketball had ended and soccer and swimming hadn't quite begun so having a cast for 3 weeks wasn't a big deal.  But piano presented a bit of a problem.  Isaac was a trooper though and figured it out.

And finally it was time to have it taken off.
Yep, all better now.

March 21st- in Utah- in the POOL!

Normally Taylor's parents pool isn't warmed up and cleaned out until sometime mid-June.  But this year since it's been in the 60's and even 70's for almost all of February and March, they decided to get it ready early.  And we couldn't be happier!

The perfect way to spend a Saturday in March.  Soccer hasn't even started but we're swimming in the pool!

St. Patrick's Day

I brought these crazy green St. Patrick's Day mustaches thinking the boys would be excited to wear them to school.  They were not!  But Isla and Miles were willing to try even if Isla's made her look like Hitler.

We quickly took Isla's off but Miles kept his on the entire day including our trip to the zoo, since it was 75 degrees!
Sam and Aria came along and the animals were really active and fun to watch.

The leopard even got a St. Patrick's Day treat of green colored ice to eat.

Spokane

With all of Taylor's traveling and crazy work schedule, I decided I needed a break myself.  I found a Time out for Women conference in Spokane which is just 3 hours from my sister Kelli and jetted off for the weekend.
Ok so all the pictures are of me with food because Taylor really, really wanted me to put TripAdvisor to the test and try out the local cuisine.  This gluten free bakery didn't really hit the spot but it was close to the convention center.
The Flying Goat Pizzeria however was TO DIE FOR!  And the fire pit outside on the patio was the perfect spot.
Kelli and I went to the conference Friday night and part of Saturday morning until we decided that we'd really just rather go explore the city instead of feeling like we were at General Conference.  The downtown park and river are pretty amazing and I want to go back this summer when the cable cars over the falls are open.
Definitely a fun weekend that needs to be repeated over and over again in new cities close to my sisters.
