Since Isaac never gets to celebrate his birthday at home, we always try to do something special or memorable with him so that it's not just Christmas Eve that day. Taylor's dad had this great idea to visit the Grand Canyon and take helicopter flights over it. Fantastic! Until we drove the 3 hours up from Phoenix and 10 minutes outside the park it started snowing and then blizzarding and all flights got cancelled for the day. Boo!
So we enjoyed the warm visitors center.
And let the kids play with every exhibit at the museum. And watched a movie of helicopter shots of the Canyon.
And then bundled up as best as we could to see the amazing sights.
Yep, and that's about all we could see. Literally not more than 20 feet in front of us. We all had a good laugh- and enjoyed having 3 more hours in the car together. So maybe not the biggest adventure for a little boy turning 5 but we did try. And really he didn't seem to notice.
