Taylor wants all our kids to have the opportunity to play most sports when they're young and then decide which they like and stick to that later. So far Ethan's only done soccer. And since Isaac was starting basketball, it was about time Ethan tried it out too. 1/2 hour games. Indoors where it's not ever too hot or too cold or rainy. I'm SOLD!
Ethan is my bouncy child and can hardly ever be still. Even when he's on the basketball court he skips and hops and dances around. And since he picked out bright red and orange indoor shoes for soccer, he sticks out just a bit.Miles spends the whole time trying to get a ball from someone so he can sneak out on the court to play himself.
Ethan's games are a little more strict on the rules. They let the boys get away with double dribbling all the time, but if they travel more than 3 steps, they get called on it. The Boys and Girls club also has this interesting way of having them play. Each child is given a different colored wrist band that matches another kid on the opposing team. Then they're told to only block that person. They want the kids to use a man on man defense instead of all just chasing the kid with the ball. It also means no one gets double teamed.
Ethan is having fun with it and his skills are improving remarkably fast. He has weekly games as well as Saturday morning practices. So fun!
