Saturday was jammed packed with activities. After visiting Hobbiton, the kids took naps and rested and I did laundry (yep, couldn't stretch it any longer) and Taylor ventured off with his parents and Barb and Clint to try out the geothermal mud baths. I truthfully didn't mind doing laundry :)
After everyone was back we got on a bus and went to visit a local Maori Village. We all sat in an amphitheatre...
And watched as the Maori warriors came out to scare us off with the traditional Haka dance. We've been to similar cultural experience in the past and this was by far the best run. After the beginning dance and explanations, etc. they separated us into small groups and we went around the village to learn about different parts of their lives- games they played to strength train, cooking tools and food, songs and traditional dances, etc.
And the boys all got called up to try the Haka, Taylor got lucky and was holding Isla so they didn't make him go up.
After 6 or 7 stations we all gathered together for a big song, dance, and making scary faces with their tongues out performance. Dinner followed and it was a full, fun day.
