Over the past few years both Isaac and Miles have had reactions to different foods. Sometimes they get hives, sometimes they throw up, sometimes both. Isaac has reacted to more foods but Miles' reactions seem more severe- especially last Christmas in Tahiti. They've never had a respiratory problem so we weren't too worried but there have been enough reactions we thought it about time to take them both in.
NOT a fun experience at all. They're pretty upset when it's flu shot time so even though this doesn't hurt as much, it's a lot more of the pricks. Sadly I had to hold both of them down for the 20+ pricks. And then I traded off with Taylor since I had to run to scouts. These are the shots a full 4 hours later.
Still monster sized red, itchy bumps.Luckily McDonald's milkshakes cure all- at least until 6 months from now when we have to go back for retests. So sad!!!
But at least we know what to avoid now. Isaac is allergic to peanuts, all tree nuts (pistachios, brazil nuts, walnuts, etc), sunflower seeds, pine nuts, cats, dogs, and trees. Poor guy- his nose runs constantly almost year round.
Miles is allergic to tree nuts as well but NOT peanuts. He's also allergic to shellfish, oysters, and extremely allergic to shrimp which apparently is bizarre for a child- Taylor had to insist he even get tested in the first place. Luckily shrimp isn't something he'll run into in Nursery or preschool very often.
