Because Ethan and Isaac were perfectly happy to be constantly entertained by my parents and their "toys", we didn't really go very many places.
But since I have been working on finding my ancestors in the past few years and recently discovered that an entire family line comes from Wisconsin, we decided to go visit the town they lived in in the 1850's and on. It was about a 4 hour drive from my parent's house in Chicago so we decided to stop along the way at the Barnum and Bailey Circus and Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin where it all started.
Ethan loved the original Carousel.
The original train cars were really amazing.
Ethan loved the funny mirrors (I loved seeing him plump! Maybe there's hope yet for this skinny 3 year old who still can only wear 18 month pants because of his skinny waist!)
Isaac next to a train car designed to be the nursery rhyme the Old Woman who lived in a shoe. On a side note, I dressed Isaac in his cute little bear outfit complete with the ears on the hood as you can see. Apparently he took that as a cue to start acting like a bear. He "growled" litterally all the way in the car. We just laughed our heads off.
